EUROPEAN FORUM TO BUILD BRIDGES ON FGM
On Tuesday, November 28th, End FGM EU held the 'European Forum to Build Bridges on FGM' for over 100 participants attending from NGOs, CSOs, service providers and practitioners, donors, researchers, experts, lawyers, academics, civil servants and activists around the globe at The Square, Brussels. The Forum was an opportunity for all actors working to end the practice of female genital mutilation to share experiences, exchange good practice and discuss future trends.

End FGM EU Youth Forum The Cut: Exploring FGM (screening) #16Days
End FGM EU hosted a two-day participatory workshop session gathering 8 girls from 6 different EU countries as a pilot activity with the long-term perspective of establishing an End FGM Youth Group actively involved with the our work to end FGM in Europe and beyond. This group of young people will be strategic in influencing our work on advocacy and awareness raising, by taking the lead and or cooperating with older generations of activists to plan and implement activities that promote children’s right and protection from FGM. As part of the International '16 Days of Activism' to raise awareness against gender-based violence against women and girls, End FGM EU hosted a screening of recently released Al Jazeera documentary 'The Cut: Exploring FGM' with journalist Fatma Naib directed by Lynn Ferguson. The full documentary, which follows Fatma as she goes on a personal journey - from Somaliland and Kenya to Sweden - to explore the traditions and controversies inherent to FGM - is available online now.

International Day of the Girl Child: End FGM European Network Organises Event in the European Parliament Building Bridges Exhibition: EU Tour Launches
On October 11th 2017, the International Day of the Girl Child, the End FGM European Network organized an event in the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Mary Honeyball (S&D), entitled: “International Day of the Girl Child - How can integrated child protection systems help girls at risk or survivors of FGM. From policies to practices”. October 11th saw the launch of the Building Bridges to End FGM Art Exhibition as part of its 2017 theme: 'Building Bridges to End FGM'. The photo exhibition features work from various contributing artists and has been travelling through various different European countries hosted by End FGM EU members to raise awareness and promote behavioral change.

FSAN Updates Forward UK Updates GAMS BE Updates

This December, during the 16 days of activism against gender-based-violence, Forward are holding a unique version of their annual African Diaspora Women’s Forum. GAMS Belgium has launched a new project on FGM with the Office of Birth and Childhood at children & families (ONE), an independent organism under the Minister for Childhood of the Wallonia & Brussels Federation.

Excision Parlons-en!Updates Médicos del Mundo Updates Ihmisoikeusliito Updates
For the international day of the girl, Excision, parlons-en ! organized a conference about FGM in a high school next to Paris where they gave presentations, shared stories and provided support resources to attending students. From 26th to 28th of November, Médicos del Mundo hosted an exchange meeting between professionals working in FGM prevention in different EU countries. This event was organized in the framework of the twinning programme supported by End FGM EU, thanks to which professionals from GAMS and APF visited Madrid and Zaragoza.  As part of the Twinning Program of End FGM European EU, Finnish League for Human Rights visited FORWARD UK in London in the end of October.
